be mine

It's the last day of February and I am just sneaking in my tag for Tim Holtz's 12 Tags of 2014

The background came from an embossing folder, then I rubbed some ink over the embossing.
Stamped some Unity stamps.
Added a glittered heart and epoxy key.
 Done. Whew!

I'm linking up to Unity's Friends with Flair hop. Come hop with us to win some rubber stamps!

Have a great weekend!!

new beginnings

I don't usually share art journal pages, probably just because I feel like they aren't worth sharing maybe. Idk. But I'm sharing this one since it was for a challenge. Practical Scrappers started an art journaling prompt challenge so I thought I'd play along. The prompt was "new beginnings" and here's what I came up with:

The photos are very light so it's hard to see some of the detail on the background. And I intentionally journaled in a color pen that matched the background so it's hard to see too.

It still doesn't feel finished and I'm sure I'll go back and add to it more. I just wanted to link up to their linky before it closed! I'm also linking up to Unity's Friends with Flair hop since I used Unity stamps (Growing in Unity) on it.

home

I am hosting the current challenge over at The Paper Girls Challenge blog and the theme I chose was 'Home'. That word is my word of the year and since I've moved I have been thinking alot about the meaning of that word 'home'. It's just been on my mind a lot lately.

My husband and I casually mentioned in conversation the other day that we are living in our sixth house. In the last 15 years of marriage we have lived in 6 houses and 2 apartments. Crazy. To say we move a lot would be an understatement.

So I thought I'd create this mini album and document all the homes we've had (and am pretty sure are still to come!).

Hopefully, I can find photos of all our houses somewhere (once I unpack all the photos) and get the inside of this album scrapped.

Please come join in on the challenge! The theme is 'home' and it can be any project with a home/house on it, anything referring to home such as 'Welcome Home', 'Congrats on your new home', 'There's no place like home', a home décor piece, etc.

I'll have a prize for a randomly drawn winner too!

Thanks for stopping by today!

Oh...and I'm just curious.
How many homes have you lived in?
Leave me a comment if you'd like to share.

you are amazing

I've got another card to share today:
I used some gelatos on watercolor paper to create the card panel and the tag.

I went to fetch my "you" die and realized I had never opened the package. Since that makes it new to me I am entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Work it Wednesday monthly challenge to use something new! And technically the enamel dots were in an unopened package. I also used my new PITT pen too which I just bought!

Thanks for stopping by today!

love card

I am finally playing along in Unity's {be inspired} monthly challenge using this color inspiration:

I made this card using the tag stamps from the Hearty Barley set.

I couldn't find a sentiment stamp I liked so I wrote out the word love with a red marker and then hand cut it with a craft knife. I have never been good at using those, but I was too lazy to pull out my die cutting machine. :)

I'm also linking up to Simon Says Stamp's Challenge to put a heart on it.

Thanks for stopping by. And if you get a chance go play in Unity's challenge - they have an awesome prize.

AND if you happen to have a LOVE-themed project then go link it up to The Paper Girls Challenge since that's our current challenge. Becci's got a fun prize for the winner.

the friendship mug

So I had these friends Victoria and Jenni. We would meet almost weekly for craft days. Some days we'd actually craft. Some days we'd just talk and eat. You never knew. Thursdays were always fun because I knew to expect some girl time on craft day.

Then I moved.
:(

I miss them and our craft days. But before I left Jenni bought us all a matching mug. A friendship mug she called it. So we could remember each other every time we use it.

Of course I loved it so much that I had to scrapbook it. I just thought that was one of the nicest gestures anyone had done for me. Gosh, I miss those girls. And I do think of them every time I use it.

I stamped a bunch of friendship quotes alongside the photo:
I added a gold-embossed chipboard heart, a gold framed heart, an Epiphany Crafts epoxy, and a flair for my embellies.
Oh, and see those faux coffee stains? I just dipped my embossing powder jar in brown ink, misted it with water and then stamped it down to get a coffee stain look.
